Terms and conditions

IntroLINK welcomes new students to Breda University of Applied Sciences at the end of August 2026. To introduce students to the city of Breda, Breda University of Applied Sciences, and their fellow students, IntroLINK organizes various activities. Terms and conditions have been drawn up for the introduction week for the Built Environment and Logistics programs.

These terms and conditions apply to all students participating in the IntroLINK introduction week at Breda University of Applied Sciences during the 2026 introduction. By completing the registration form, the participant automatically agrees to the terms and conditions below. Students cannot participate in the introduction week if they do not agree to the terms and conditions.

The following terms are used in the general terms and conditions:

Participant: new first-year students or higher-year students participating in the introduction week program. Suppliers of goods and/or services hired by the organization of the introduction week are also considered ‘participants’;

Organization of the introduction week: the organizers of IntroLINK 2026 of Breda University of Applied Sciences; Introduction week: the complete program organized by the organization of the introduction week, including all associated activities.”

The terms and conditions:

Article 1 – General

1.1 Students may only participate in the introduction week if they have been fully admitted to one of the Built Environment or Logistics programs at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

1.2 External visitors are only admitted to the introduction if the organizers invite them or give their approval. Breda University of Applied Sciences is not responsible for theft of personal belongings and/or physical or mental injury as a result of participation in the introduction week. This also includes hearing impairment of a participant.

1.3 Personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, and personal situations will not be shared publicly or with third parties. This information is only shared within the organization when necessary.

1.4 Breda University of Applied Sciences cannot be held liable for any damage to personal belongings of participants and visitors.

Article 2 – Agreement

Once an individual has submitted the registration form, the participant enters into an agreement with the organization of the introduction week, whereby:

2.1 The participant declares to have taken note of and to agree to these terms and conditions.

Article 3 – Cancellation

3.1 Students may cancel their registration up until 25-8-2025. The registration fee will not be refunded if a person cancels their registration after 25-8-2025.

3.2 The organization of the introduction week reserves the right to cancel the introduction week. They also determine whether a situation of force majeure applies (see article 5) causing the introduction week to be cancelled.

Article 4 – Privacy

4.1 The organization of the introduction week complies with the BUaS privacy policy and the GDPR. For more information about the BUaS privacy policy, visit https://www.buas.nl/privacyverklaring and the portal.

4.2 The introduction week takes place through various online means. Breda University of Applied Sciences or any connecting partners including the organization are not responsible for loss or misuse of personal data through these means.

4.3 Participants are not permitted at any time to record their screen or take photos of online activities linked to the introduction without notifying other participants of that activity.

Article 5 – Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Under certain circumstances, a decision may be made on the grounds of force majeure to cancel (certain activities of) the program. If these circumstances are deemed irresponsible with regard to safety by the organization of the introduction week, a decision may be made to cancel (the activities within) the introduction week program. This rule covers circumstances such as social unrest, serious disruption of public order, legal prohibitions, government orders, emergency decisions, terrorism, extreme weather, etc. The organizers of the introduction week determine in consultation with Breda University of Applied Sciences whether the circumstances are beyond their control.

Article 6 – Participation and Suspension

6.1 Follow instructions

Participants must at all times follow the instructions of the organization of the introduction week with regard to safety, order, and the actual running of the program. If a participant refuses to follow an instruction, the organization of the introduction week has the right to exclude the relevant participant from all further activities of the introduction week.

6.2 Assessing participants’ condition

6.2.1. Participants are and remain personally responsible for assessing whether they are in sufficient condition to participate in the introduction week.

6.2.2. The organization of the introduction week has the right to remove a participant from (further) activities of the introduction week if, in the opinion of the organization, the physical condition of the relevant participant endangers the safety of that participant or others.

6.3 Use of alcohol and/or drugs
6.3.1 The organization of the introduction week has the right to remove a participant from (further) activities of the introduction week if the participant is in a state of intoxication or is clearly under the influence of drugs.

It is not permitted to use or possess drugs. If a participant is suspected of having drugs and/or drug use, the organization of the introduction week reserves the right to exclude the relevant person from further activities of the introduction week. This also applies to (excessive) alcohol use.

6.3.2 Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to buy, receive, and/or use alcohol. It is also not permitted to sell and/or give alcohol to students under the age of 18.

Article 7 – Incidents and Emergencies

In the event of an incident, the emergency response/evacuation plan will be activated.

7.1 Participants must immediately follow this plan and act on the instructions of the organization of the introduction week. If a participant fails to do so, any damages incurred will be at the participant’s own expense, to the extent that they can be held liable.

7.2 In cases of an incident, the instructions of both emergency responders and aid workers must be followed at all times. Participants must therefore remain alert to any emergency situations that may arise.

7.3 If a participant sees a situation that could lead to problems, they must immediately notify a staff member and/or the organization.

Article 8 – Use of Images and Recordings

During the introduction week, photos and films may be taken. By agreeing to the terms and conditions, the participant declares their agreement that Breda University of Applied Sciences may use these for marketing and communication purposes.
